Welcome to Issue 18 of the Third Dimension disk magazine for 3D
Construction Kit 1 and 2 users on all computer formats.A special
welcome to all new users!
As you will all know,The Third Dimension scored a massive 86 per
cent score from ST Format,it has appeared in Floppyshop PD's
recommended top 20 PD list on numerous occasions, scored a decent
79 per cent score from the September 95 issue of CU Amiga magazine
and has now scored an excellent 85 per cent mark in the November 95
issue of Amiga Shopper!.
Here is the review.-
--------------------
Disk magazines tend to come and go,either because of lack of
interest or because the creators loose momentum. This
one, though,is on Isuue 15.It is dedicated to 3D construction kit
users.The mag's content is pretty comprehensive,with
tutorials, letters and features as well as some example files for
you to play with. The content is extensive. If you are a 3D
construction kit user, then here's a mag you should know about.
VERDICT-85%.

ArgoStick joystick ( Worth about £10 ) and 3 back issues of the
diskmag plus your choice of any disk from the PD library.Or if
you have all the back issues simply choose 3 more PD disks.
There will also be disk prizes for runners up!
To enter simply send in a building for the OUR-TOWN datafile made
in kit1.You can just send in a building or add rooms etc to it
too.Simply load the OUR-TOWN.KIT datafile into 3D kit 1 and add
your building into the area accessed via the tunnel. There are two
building in there already.Fuller OUR-TOWN details can be found in
the OUR-TOWN.TXT file.If you already have a building in there you
can still enter and add another one!
This month we have the kit 1 and 2 step by step game tutorials,
review/listings of lots of new kit disks, the competition
above, lots of text files to read,a full list of kit variables for
the PC users who received kit 1 free with a PC mag and don't know
them.John clarke has amazed me by actually sending in a kit
routine on switches, there are lots of clock routines by Paul
Littlewood,a story by Mandy plus kit datafiles and lots more!
So what has been happening at 3D HQ? I have been messing
around with my CD ROM drive a lot and I have found a lot of
useful programs. These will be placed into the PD library shortly.
I have added more areas to my CyberCity 3D kit file. The user can
now wander around this large texture mapped (via user fades)
city and visit the country, seaside, the city, underground and
other places too.I may add a short game into this too.I have also
been playing Secret Weapon by Robin Ball and Operation
Thunderbolt by Antony Quinn, two excellent games. This has got me
off the VirtuaLoco simulation footplate.
I have also enrolled back at College part-time to wake up my
brain cells again.
Tony Hartley.
